HUNTER PANELS was founded in December of 1997. They are the first start-up company to enter the Polyiso industry since 1975, and they do so with a particular mission: to distinguish ourselves as a proactive entrepreneurial manufacturer and a leader in the marketing of their product line. As a stand alone manufacturer, they are focused singularly on that purpose. They have brought together a team of industry professionals who know Polyiso inside and out and who care about being technically proficient and customer driven. Quality is a mantra at Hunter Panels.

Polyisocyanurate (polyiso) Insulation:

Polyiso is a closed-cell, rigid foam board insulation used primarily on the roofs of offices, health facilities, warehouses, retail and industrial manufacturing facilities and educational institutions Because of its high thermal performance in the home building market, it is product of choice for energy-aware homebuilders and consumers.

Polyiso insulation attributes include:

  • Highest R-value per inch of thickness
  • Moisture resistant, water repellent panel
  • Resistant to solvents used in construction adhesives
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Superior performance in fire tests - polyiso meets the strict standard of both FM Class Approvals 1 (FM 4450) and UL 1256
  • Service temperature range from -100F to +250F
  • Long Term R-value (only roof insulation with third party certification)
  • Recycled content
  • Zero ozone depletion potential
  • Virtually no global warming potential
  • Nationwide availability

H-Shield-NB:

This is a rigid roof insulation composite panel composed of a closed cell polyisocyanurate foam core bonded during the manufacturing process to fiber reinforced facers on one side and either 7/16" or 5/8" oriented strand board (OSB) on the other.

H-Sheild-NB attributes include:

  • Manufactured with NexGen Chemistry™ - Zero ODP, CFC Free
  • A superior combination of high insulating properties and/or nailable surface.
  • Suitable for new construction and re-roofing on both commercial and residential projects.
  • Incorporates APA-TECO Rated Exposure 1 Oriented Strand Board
  • Manufactured on line with a routed edge to allow for expansion of the OSB
  • Also available as a non-routed panel for standing seam metal systems.
  • H-Shield NB is also available bonded to CDX plywood (various sizes), manufactured in an off-line process.
  • Available with FSC Certified OSB or plywood upon request

Cool-Vent:

This is a venting composite insulation board that consists of a 4' x 8' panel of NexGen Chemistry™ polyiso, a middle layer of solid wood spacers and a top layer of APA/TECO rated OSB or plywood. Cool-Vent is the environmentally intelligent choice for steep slope roofing applications and is viable in green and sustainable building designs. The life of exterior roofing materials can be foreshortened by heat build up within the assembly. Cool-Vent's primary function is to simultaneously provide thermal insulating properties and promote air circulation within that assembly. Hunter Panels' unique design achieves over 92% open space for free air movement and cross ventilation.

Cool-Vent attributes include:

  • 75% lateral air movement
  • Improved cooling and ventilation due to 92% open air space
  • Nailable surface (OSB or plywood) rabbeted 1/8” on all sides to allow for substrate expansion
  • Wood spacers less than 12" apart; minimizes deflection
  • Design flexibility: 1.5" and 2” wood spacers available for increased air flow (low-slope considerations)
  • Exceeds requirements of ARMA Tech Bulletin 211-RR-24 regarding minimum depth of air space
